SOLUTION: In the card conveying mechanism 1 for conveying a card 3 while along a reference card traveling surface 5 by a card energizing member 4 while holding the card 3 between a driving roller and a pad roller 7, plural grooves 9 are formed on a card abutting surface 8 of the pad roller 7 and a pressurized contact surface of the pad roller 7 is formed into divided plural surfaces.
