The thermoplastics layer is first applied as ungelled paste to the fibrous layer and gelled by heat treatment. The heat is introduced by an endless circulating metal belt contacting the thermoplastics surface. Preferably the paste can contain blowing agent. The belt is covered with an adhesion-reducing insulating coating of poly-tetrafluoroethylene. The paste contains 1% of a saturated aqs. solution of a highly-dissociated neutral salt. |
