Building panels consisting of a central part composed of an expanded, heat curable resin, which is bonded on at least one side with a coating layer, are produced by (a) forming the central part from a resin with a paste-like consistency, which can be foamed, (b) contacting at least one surface of the resin with a layer of a compatible, thermally curable resin, and (c) simultaneously foaming and curing the two resins, as in NE. 68, 04077. The improvement comprises providing the panels on at least one side with a coating consisting of a ceramic material, such as glass mosaics. The panels are useful for facing walls, covering floors, or as partitions. The panels have an attractive appearance, a high strength and good insulating properties, and are easily made as continuous sheet. |
