PURPOSE: To make a display, corresponding to the kind of an editing form, selected out of form selection items in form settings according to the purpose of an editor, on an editing screen. CONSTITUTION: When the number of lines and the number of columns of one page and the kind of the editing form are selected on a format setting screen displayed on a CRT 20 through operation on a keyboard 24, a CPU 10 stores those pieces of information in a format information memory 14b of a RAM 14. Then the CPU 10 reads editing form pattern data corresponding to the selected kind of the editing form out of form data 12a in a ROM 12 and writes them at respective character input display positions of a VRAM 16 together with the characters while matching the number of lines and the number of columns, thereby displaying the data on the CRT 20. |
