OPTICAL MODULATION CONTROL METHOD FOR OPTICAL TRANSMITTER

PURPOSE: To provide the method capable of controlling modulation of a light source of the optical transmitter without using a pilot signal. CONSTITUTION: A light source 2 of the optical transmitter 1 is subject to intensity modulation by using an electric signal processed by frequency division multiplexing (FDM signal), the amplitude of the electric signal is made constant by an AGC to control the intensity modulation with respect to the light source 1 thereby allowing the light source 1 to provide an output of an optical signal. In the optical modulation control method for the optical transmitter, total power of the electric signal processed by frequency division multiplexing is used for the AGC signal.
