High-ductility tungsten wires

The ductility of tungsten wires for electric bulbs or elements of cathode ray tubes according to Patent No. 1533395 is improved by the addition of 0.0001-0.05 part by wt. of a compound of Al, Si and/or K (preferably introduced in the form of their oxides), and 0.002-0.5 part by wt. of Co; Sn may be added in an amt. up to 0.0005 part by wt. per part of W. The workability of tungsten is greatly improved; its elongation in the cold is 10%.
