In the laid state, the interlocking roofing tile has, together with the neighbouring interlocking roofing tile, a vertical side expansion joint. In order to improve drainage, in particular in the case of the side interlocking, and to avoid leakages in the corner between four roofing tiles, there is provided in the interlocking roofing tile, inside the head/side interlocking corner (28), a notched portion (281) which is designed to be essentially as deep as the outer side interlocking hat (514). When roofing with tiles close one after the other, a locking peg, which is provided on the underside of the roofing tile and is located in the head/top interlocking corner, engages in each case into said notched portion. <IMAGE>
