PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing device using an ultraviolet ray wherein a sterilization can be efficiently performed by intermittently casting the ultraviolet ray to an irradiation object without repeating the on operation and the off operation of an ultraviolet ray casting lamp, and in addition, the life of the ultraviolet ray casting lamp can be extended, and the durability is excellent. SOLUTION: A sterilizing chamber 2 is partitioned by partitioning members 4a and 4b in such a manner that irradiation chambers 2a and 2c and a non- irradiation chamber 2b may alternately become adjacent. Then, a moving means 1 which moves the sterilization object A in such a manner that the sterilization object A may pass through the irradiation chambers 2a and 2b and the non- irradiation chamber 2b is provided. At the same time, the ultraviolet ray casting lamp 3 is arranged in a manner to face to the irradiation chambers 2a and 2c. Then, the sterilization objective A is alternately passed through the irradiation chambers 2a and 2c and the non-irradiation chamber 2b. Thus, this sterilizing device 1 using the ultraviolet ray, which provides the same effect as a flickering ultraviolet casting lamp, is constituted.
