PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for attaching and detaching an algal reef plate for artificially promoting the germination of seaweed on the algal reef plate by which the algal reef plate can be readily attached to and detached from a grounding substrate structure without using metal fittings, and the treating method of the algal reef plate is facilitated. SOLUTION: The algal reef plate 3 made from a proper material, and having a proper shape, thickness and weight is formed, and a depression 2 having a similar shape as the algal reef plate 3, nearly same depth as the thickness of the algal reef plate 3, and a extent slightly larger than that of the algal reef plate 3 is formed on the surface of the grounding substrate structure 1. The algal reef plate 3 is inserted into the depression 2, and the adequate number of wedge-shaped wood wedges is hit in the chink between the depression 2 and the periphery of the algal reef plate 3 to attach the algal reef plate 3. The algal reef plate 3 is detached by hitting the plural wedge-shaped wood wedges 5 from sides, and pulling out the wedges 5.
