PURPOSE: To uniformly form a toner layer on a developing roller. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with the developing roller abutting on the external peripheral surface of a photoreceptor drum and making an electrostatic latent image formed on the external peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum visualizable, a toner supplying roller abutting on the external peripheral surface of the developing roller and supplying toner to the developing roller from a toner storing container, and a toner layer adjusting mechanism 10 arranged by the developing roller and adjusting the thickness of the toner layer on the external peripheral surface of the developing roller; and the mechanism 10 is constituted of a metallic toner layer adjusting member 11 in a rugged roller shape provided in press-contact with the external peripheral surface of the developing roller and having four projection parts having different radiuses of curvature on a cross-sectional periphery, a channel member 12 for switching the projection part of the member 11 in press-contact with the developing roller 9, and a plate member 13 for setting the pressurizing force of the member 11 to the developing roller. |
