PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support shaft of a cutter in a shredder capable of controlling an object to be treated so as not to enter between a cutter mechanism and a structure of the shredder, adequately cutting even an end of the object, and easily and adequately installing the support shaft of the cutter on the structure. SOLUTION: A support shaft 10 is supported by a structure 2 of a shredder 1, and a cutter mechanism 12 of a cutter 14, or the like is mounted on the support shaft. The support shaft 10 has a plate 20 to be inserted between the structure 2 and the cutter mechanism 12. The plate 20 guides an object such as documents so that the object to be cut does not enter between the structure 2 and the cutter mechanism 12. The plate 20 is installed displaceably on the support shaft 10, pressed against the plate 20, pushed toward the cutter mechanism 12 by tightening a nut 28 to be screwed to a screw 26 formed in an end of the support shaft 10 via an interposition 24 extending to the side opposite to the cutter mechanism 12 of the structure, and arranged at the position close to the cutter mechanism 12.
