Turf is treated (simultaneously or separately) with 0À1-12 Ib/acre of 6-azauracil and 0À45-4 Ib/sq. ft. of nitrogen in the form of calcium nitrate, ammonium sulphate, urea, or ureaformaldehyde. The 6-azauracil may be in the form of the sodium or 2-thio sodium salt; or the 5-bromo, 3-methyl, 2-thio, 4-thio, 5-methyl-2- thio, or 5-phenyl-2-thio derivative. The treatment may be repeated after 21-56 days. The 6-azauracil may be applied as an aqueous or a solid composition. Other constituents may be 20-5-5 NPK fertilizer, vermiculite, acetone, ethylene glycol, hexylene glycol, and polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate. |
