PURPOSE: To execute adequate image formation according to the kinds of recording media by discriminating the kinds of the recording media in accordance with the attribute information of the recording media and executing the image formation meeting the kinds of the discriminated recording media. CONSTITUTION: An electronic copying machine 1A has a central processing unit(CPU) 10A in commission of sequence control and a ROM 11A in which sequence programs including thickness information and various kinds of control information for executing image formation are stored. The CPU 10A discriminates the kinds of the recording media P in accordance with the detection results of the thicknesses detected by a thickness detecting sensor 630 and makes discrimination as to whether the discriminated kinds of the recording media P and the kinds of the recording media P inputted by a display operation section 4 coincide or not. The image formation control meeting the kinds of the recording media P is executed in the case of coincidence. Disposition, such as warning or image formation stop, is executed in case the coincidence is not attained. |
