Method of operation of clock with hands

The method of controlling operation of a clock with hands (8) driven by a motor (22) in response to a controller, has four stages. The hand(s) are placed in a multiplicity of predetermined successive positions (32) that the hand(s) must attain to be in synchronism with the official time. The drive is operated so the hand(s) move in synchronism with the official time. The successive positions actually attained by the hands are detected. Where the actual position differs from the position it should attain, a command signal (39c) is generated to ensure the drive motor is adjusted to bring the hands into synchronism with the official time.
