The back-up light switch system for a manual gear-shift lever is simplified in its structure integrally assembled with a fastener bolt(26) of an interlock member(25). The interlock member(25) with a control finger(23) is fixed onto the periphery of a control shaft(21) and interacts with the control shaft which is linearly movable and rotatable in a transmission housing(20). The fastener bolt(26) is fitted to the transmission housing, and its tip with a contact ball(29) passes through a slot hole(24) formed on the interlock member so as to contact with the outer surface of the control finger. The back-up light switch system placed in the bore of the bolt shank comprises a contact ball(29), a spring seat(30) integrally formed with a first terminal plate(32), a second terminal plate(33) fixed to the bottom of the bore, and a compression coil spring(31) restrained by an annular protrusion(28) formed in the bore. The back-up lamp is switched on by the contact of two terminal plates.
