Two-wheeled roller skates and skateboards which can be steered by leaning. The wheels are mounted in-line one behind the other to have a narrow ground track and allow performance similar to an ice skate. Each wheel is mounted in a vertically pivoted castor, with the front castor trailing and the rear castor leading. Side forces induced by leaning swivel the castors in opposite directions to cause steering into the lean. Resilient connections between the two castors and/or between each castor and the underside of the skate(board) resiliently straighten the castors after turning and tend to keep the castors straight. |
