PURPOSE:To achieve security of an always good stabilized liquid drop discharge state even in recording for a long time by a method wherein a heating resistor is heated, and an electric signal enough for stabilizing a resistant value of the heating resistor by action of heating caused by said heat generation is applied from an electrode to perform an aging process. CONSTITUTION:A liquid drop forming means for forming a discharge liquid drop from a liquid drop discharge port 12 and a liquid path 14 interconnected thereto, containing a part in which heat from a heater 13 is given to recording liquid is established to a recording head 7. The heater 13 is heated by applying a recording signal to the heater 13 from a FPC 8 via an electrode, and thermal energy is given to the recording liquid existing in the liquid path 14 near the heater 13. At any stage when such a recording head is manufactured, an electric signal is given to the heater 13, and only a neighborhood of the heater 13 is treated by heating. An aging process in which a resistance value of the heater 13 is stabilized thereby is included. An always good liquid drop discharge state can be obtained thereby from an initial stage of recording. |
