Liq. manure disposal - by preheating, distn., drying and vaporisation of water

The disposal of liq. manure presents large-scale animal husbandry with increasing difficulties and causes increasing contamination of lakes and ground water. It is therefore suggested to pass the liq. manure from the stables (1) to a preheater (5) and a distillator (2) where the water is heated to evap, temp, by a heating jacket (8). A dryer (3) with a heating jacket (8) reduces the moisture content to 90% solids. A compressor (6) compresses the vapours to heat them by 10-15 deg.C. for use in the jackets (8). The solid manure is stored in the silo (7). The clean water from the jackets goes to a vaporizer (4) where its inherent heat is used for cooling elements of the stable air conditioner (9). The clean vapours emitted cause no nuisance. ADVANTAGE - The dry manure can be disposed without polluting the environment and can even be transported over some distance all the year round.
