PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the telephone set that sounds a call tone music specific to a caller for the called party of the telephone set. SOLUTION: Telephone numbers of specific parties are registered as registered telephone numbers. Call tone music data are stored in a flush memory 120. Each registered telephone number is cross-referenced with each of the music data and stored in a RAM 100 as a table. A caller telephone number added to an incoming call at the arrival thereof is checked whether or not it is coincident with a registered telephone number by comparing the telephone number with each registered telephone number. The music data corresponding to the coincident with the registered telephone number are read as a check result and outputted to a speaker 60. Or the music data may be stored in a PC memory card.
