The invention relates generally to pigmented compositions that, upon the application of water and pressure, exhibit a visible change in one or more optical attributes such as color. The addition of styrene maleic anhydride copolymers to a pigmented composition, such as a so-called pigment grind, can impart color changing properties to the composition, as well as to a cosmetic or personal care product to which the pigment grind is added. The pigment grind and the cosmetic or personal care product formulation are preferably anhydrous or substantially anhydrous. Upon the application of water and pressure and/or shear (such as rubbing), the compositions undergo a change in one or more optical attributes. |
