PURPOSE: To obtain an ultrasonic motor in which friction is suppressed at the contacting part between an elastic body and a mover and the energy efficiency is enhanced. CONSTITUTION: The ultrasonic motor comprises a rectangular elastic prismatic body 1 having at least one drive plane in the longitudinal direction, piezoelectric elements 2, 3 for imparting the bending vibration mounted on a plane intersecting the elastic body 1 perpendicularly, a support 4 for supporting the elastic body 1 substantially at the node of bending vibration, a rotor 6 coming into contact with the driving plane of the elastic body 1, and a piezoelectric element 9 for controlling the contacting period between the elastic body 1 and the rotor 6. |
