DENITRIFICATION CATALYST, ITS PRODUCTION AND DENITRIFICATING METHOD FOR EXHAUST GAS USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: To remove NOx in an exhaust gas at a high space velocity by using a catalyst having zinc oxide and sliver carried on an activated alumina having a specific fine pore structure and a specific surface area or more. CONSTITUTION: The denitrification catalyst consists essentially of the activated alumina >=120m<2> /g of a specific surface area and satisfying a following condition (1) for the relation between the fine pore diameter and fine pore volume which are measured by gaseous nitrogen adsorption method, zinc oxide and at least one kind of silver or silver oxide. And, in the condition (1), B is >=70% of A and C is <=20% of A when the sum of the volume of fine pores having <=300(5) fine pore diameter is expressed by A, the sum of the volume of fine pores having >=25Å to <100A fine pore diameter is expressed by B and the sum of the volume of fine pores having 100Å to 300Å fine pore diameter is expressed by C.
