PURPOSE:To shorten the idle time required for tool changing, by setting up each of vertical and horizontal spindles separately, while making the on-off operation of each spindle selectable independently even in their rotation for driving. CONSTITUTION:A spindle head 4 is provided with each of spindles 14A and 14B supported rotatably around both vertical and horizontal shafts. Each spindle is equipped with a tool setting device which makes a holder for a tool 10 attachably or detachably to or from each spindle at will, via a changing arm 8a of a tool changer 8. With a driving system built in the spindle head 4, each of these spindles 14A and 14B is driven separately. This means that it conduces to the shortening of idle time for tool changing. |
