发明名称 PRODUCTION OF HIGHER KETONE
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound useful as a raw material or intermediate for paint, resin, solvent or various organic syntheses, economically at a low cost, by using a lower ketone and hydrogen as raw materials and reacting the materials in liquid phase in the presence of a specific catalyst having high activity and selectivity. CONSTITUTION:A binary component catalyst containing zirconium oxide and palladium as essential components and having essentially neutral surface acid- base strength measured by Hammett indicator method is used as the catalyst for the present process. The objective compound can be produced by reacting a lower ketone with hydrogen in the presence of the above catalyst preferably at 30-150 deg.C under a reaction pressure above the autogenous pressure of the lower ketone and usually below 150kg/cm<2>, preferably 1-50kg/cm<2>. The zirconium oxide used in the above catalyst preferably has an acid strength (H0) of >=+6.8 and a base strength (H-) of <=+7.2. The amount of the palladium is preferably 0.01-5wt.% based on the zirconium oxide.
