<p>PURPOSE:To add an automatic power supply control function to a computer system without using an automatic power supply controller by always actuating a communication control part via a subsidiary power unit and controlling a primary power unit with the instruction given from the communication control part. CONSTITUTION:A computer system 1 consists of a central processing part 2, a main storage 3, and a communication control part 4. The power is supplied to each part from a primary power unit 5. The part 4 is kept active by a subsidiary power unit 11 even though the unit 5 is kept OFF. Thus it is possible to receive a message instructing an ON state of a power supply from the counterpart station via a communication circuit 10. When this message is received, the part 4 raises the unit 5 by means of a signal line 12 and turns on the power supply of the system 1. As a result, an automatic power supply control function is added to the system 1 without using any external automatic power supply controller.</p> |
