The invention relates to supply circuits for lighting lamps. In order to avoid the drawbacks of thyristor circuits as well as the drawbacks of conventional transistor circuits (which are expensive and complex), the present invention provides a simple circuit using a main inductor (L0) for supplying current to a high-frequency oscillating (resonating) circuit. The oscillating circuit includes a secondary inductor (L1), a capacitor (C1), and a lamp (LMP) to be supplied. A transistor q is controlled in order to: - periodically close the oscillating circuit LC on itself and allow its free oscillation, damped by the lamp, - then reopen the oscillating circuit in order to interrupt the oscillation, and then resupply energy into the oscillating circuit through the main inductor before a new free oscillation. The invention is particularly suitable for supplying fluourescent tubes. <IMAGE>
