Compact article singulation conveyor

The conveyor's (12) surface causes items deposited upon it to come to rest separated and in the desired orientation. The conveyer runs between side-walls, against which the surface forces the items to align them. Items which are not correctly oriented are forced up and returned, by another conveyor branching off at right angles to the main one, to the conveyor's inlet zone where they may again fall into the desired orientation. Items are introduced to the conveyer through an inlet (14) and are discharged singly and oriented as required in a line through an outlet (20).
