PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a driven body in an arbitrary direction using a single motor without requiring any special mechanism for switching the direction of driving force. SOLUTION: A rotor 100 is a spherical shell having an opening at a part thereof. A support 200 supports the rotor 100 while wrapping a part thereof. The rotor 100 has outer surface arranged with a whole surface electrode and inner surface arranged regularly with a plurality of piezoelectric elements each fixed with a polarization electrode. A high frequency AC voltage is applied between the polarization electrode and the whole surface electrode to generate an ultrasonic vibration in the rotor thus turning the rotor. |
