<p>An odorless modified silicone compound which is obtained by reacting an organohydrogenpolysiloxane with an alkenylpolyoxyalkylene, alkenylglycerol, and/or alkenylsaccharide by addition reaction in the presence of a platinum or rhodium catalyst and subjecting the resultant solution to the following purification treatment (A) or (B). It has a degree of unsaturation of 0.002 (meq/g) or lower and generates aldehydes in an amount of 70 ppm or smaller when aged in 0.23 N hydrochloric acid at 50°C for 0.5 hr. Hydrogen ation of residual unsaturated bonds and subsequent decomposition of aldehyde condensates with an aqueous acid solution having a pH of 7 or lower. Decomposition of propenyl ether compounds with an aqueous acid solution having a pH of 7 or lower and subsequent hydrogenation of the resultant aldehydes and residual unsaturated bonds.</p> |
