The present invention relates to a security system and a security method for a portable memory having a security function, and more specifically to a security system and a security method for a portable memory capable of activating a security module in accordance with detection of an activation signal by communicating with a short-distance wireless transmitter. The security system for a portable memory according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a terminal having a portable memory connection interface; a short distance wireless transmitter to transmit an activation signal having an identification key value; and a portable memory connected to the portable memory connection interface to operate, wherein the portable memory includes: a reception unit to receive the activation signal having an identification key value from the short-distance wireless transmitter; a security module to be activated in accordance with the activation signal; a control unit to calculate an identification key by receiving the activation signal through the reception unit and activate the security module; and a storage unit to store data transmitted from the terminal. The present invention has effects of controlling the state of activation of a plurality of portable memories within a specific area by controlling the state of activation and deactivation of the portable memories in accordance with reception of the activation signal provided within the corresponding specific area.
