PURPOSE: To provide a color image of high print quality and high image quality without feathering and color bleeding on a plain paper. CONSTITUTION: An ink jet recording ink consists of at least (A) a colorant, (B) a penetrant to be selected from a surface active agent below a micelle density, a monohydric alcohol, a derivative of polyhydric alcohol, (C) an alginate, (D) a wetting agent and water. A ratio M/G between a D-mannuronic acid [M] forming the alginate and an L-glucuronic acid [G] is within a range of 0.5-1.2. Before printing, a polyvalent metal ion is fixed. |
