Means for the installation of a temperature sensor 11 in a recess 1 in a wall 2 of a room includes an installation frame 5 and a cover 6 which can be fixed to the installation frame 5 by a screw 7. The screw 7 has a through bore 13 for receiving the temperature sensor 11 so that the sensor 11 is exposed to the room air. The screw 7 comprises plastics material which is a poor thermal conductor. Mounted on the installation frame 5 is a terminal 10 for electrical wiring of the temperature sensor 11. In order to provide effective thermal insulation the terminal 10 and the screw 7 completely enclose the temperature sensor 11, towards the recess 1. Preferably the temperature sensor 11 is provided with connecting legs 12 and the terminal 10 is so designed that electrical contacts and a mechanically firm connection are automatically formed upon insertion of the connecting legs 12.
