A road structure consists of elements 10 and a covering element 10. The elements are mounted in two layers, one upon the other and overlapping. The transverse ridges 3 of the road on the edges of the elements fit in grooves 4 in the central parts of the corresponding elements. The surface 1 of the frame part in the element which is formed by the upper and lower surfaces of the finished covering is essentially a plane surface. Between the tops of the ridges 3 on the edges of the elements, a part is formed which in its entirety forms a groove 4 which narrows towards the bottom. <IMAGE>
