The monitoring equipment is for a hopper system for material in particle form with a buffer storage hopper. The latter has supply and sicharge mechanisms for the material. The equipment has a first feeler detecting the presence or absence of the material at a predetermined low level in the hopper, and a second one feeler operating at a high level. Each emits signals accordingly. Control units regulate operation of the system dependent on the signals received. Third, fourth and fifth feelers can also be provided detecting the presence of absence of material at other points, e.g. on a discharge conveyor. |
