PURPOSE:To obtain the subject molding improved in abrasion resistance and weathering resistance by coating a polycarbonate resin with a specified silylated acrylic resin primer and a colloidal silica-filled silicone resin. CONSTITUTION:A polycarbonate resin is coated with a composition comprising a copolymer of an alkoxysilylated (meth)acrylate with an alkyl (meth)acrylate, ammonium perchlorate, a UV absorber and optionally an alkyl-etherified methylolmelamine, and the applied composition is cured to form an undercoat. The coated molding is further coated with a composition comprising a colloidal silica-filled organopolysiloxane, desirably a hydrolyzate of an epoxy organosilicon compound, colloidal silica and a curing catalyst, and the applied composition is cured to form a topcoat. In this way, a coated polycarbonate useful for spectacle lenses, sky goggles, automobile windowglass, etc., can be obtained. |
