PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil improving method which enables rational, economical, sure and firm performance of soil improvement. SOLUTION: In a soil improving body 1 formed in ground 3 directly under a building 2 on the earth's surface, an underground side is formed as a curved surface in a state wherein depths on both sides of the building 2 are smallest and wherein a depth in the central part of the building 2 is greatest. A central part corresponding to the building 2 is thickened so that concentration of stress in the body 1 can be reduced, and a compressive fracture and a tensile fracture due to bending are hardly caused. The central part (whereon a load of the building 2 acts most greatly and wherein compressive settlement is great) of the body 1 is thickened, so that the body 1 can also be made rational for settlement measures. Furthermore, the underground side of the body 1 is formed as the curved surface, so that the body 1 can be stabilized in the soft ground 3 even if the body 1 is not supported by supporting ground 4.
