PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide yarns which can give wears having high hygroscopicity and cool touches, when worn, and to provide a fabric. SOLUTION: This bamboo material-containing yarn containing fibers prepared by fibrillating a bamboo material. The preferable blended yarn containing the bamboo material can be produced by felling bamboo material, making the bamboo material contain water, roughly fibrillating the bamboo material with pressure rollers, suitably hydrolyzing pectin contained in the bamboo material with a hydrolase to finely fibrillate, removing impurities, arranging the fibers in a constant length to obtain cotton-like bamboo fibers, blending 50 wt.% of the obtained bamboo fibers with 50 wt.% of cotton, spinning the blended fibers, and then twisting the spun yarns.
