PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing composition which is cured by a small amount of irradiation of active energy ray and has high transparency. SOLUTION: The sealing composition comprises an acid generator (A) which contains a sulfonium cation and a borate anion represented by general formula (1) and has a molar extinction coefficient at a wavelength of 350 nm of 3,000-25,000, and a cationically polymerizable compound (B). In formula (1), Y denotes a fluorine or chlorine atom; Z denotes a phenyl group substituted with two or more groups selected from a fluorine atom, a cyano group, a nitro group and a trifluoromethyl group; m denotes an integer of 0-3; n denotes an integer of 1-4; and m+n=4.
