PURPOSE: To extend a life of a lead-acid battery by setting a cross-sectional area of one of lattice bones in the different direction of a length of a positive electrode lattice to be a predetermined value and at the same time setting the ratio of cross-sectional area of one lattice bone to the other lattice bone to be a predetermined value to reduce dispersion of the cross-sectional area of the lattice bones. CONSTITUTION: A vertical cross-sectional area 1b of one of lattice bones in the direction of a length of a positive electrode lattice of a positive electrode plate is set the minimum area of above 2.5mm<2> such as 3mm<2> . The vertical cross-sectional area 1a of the other lattice bone is larger than the cross-sectional area 1b and a ratio of the areas 1a, 1b is set 1.0 to 1.5. Accordingly, dispersion if the cross-sectional area of the lattice bones is reduced and corrosion of the lattice bones due to charging and discharging operation is uniformized, thereby extending the life of a lead-acid battery. |
