The present invention concerns a method, a gauge and a system for determining the filling rate of hydrogen, during an absorption/desorption reaction, stored in a tank of hydrogen storage material, said tank being an enclosure (1) containing a gaseous mixture and hydrogen absorbed in the hydrogen storage material (2). The method involves temporarily modifying the mass of the gaseous mixture contained in the enclosure in a controlled manner, measuring the variation in the pressure of said gaseous mixture resulting from said modification, deducing the volume of free gas around the storage material in the tank by means of a state function linking the thermodynamic parameters of the gaseous mixture, and determining the tank filling rate from a calibration curve linking the volume of the gaseous mixture to the filling rate of said tank, said temporary modification being carried out in conditions that avoid a reaction between the gaseous mixture contained in the enclosure and the hydrogen storage material. |
