In an electric switch, for ignition systems, a control member 16 pivots a plate 11, of ferro-magnetic material, against the action of a spring 13, the plate 11 attracting a magnet 2 on a resilient blade 1 carrying a contact 10. When the resilience of the blade overcomes the attraction of the magnet, the blade is released and vibrates, the moving contact 10 engaging stationary contacts 7, 8 alternately. The area 18 of the blade 1 where the pivoting takes place, may be of a reduced cross-section or there may be a pivotal link. For low-frequency operation, the blade may be replaced by a spring-loaded disc, revolving on a shaft and capable of oscillating between two stops. |
