摘要 1312715 Measuring liquid levels; measuring rate of flow BOPP & REUTHER GmbH 9 April 1970 [11 April 1969] 17021/70 Headings G1H and G1R A liquid level meter for measuring the level of a contaminated liquid comprises a liquid level measuring probe 1, 2 in a reservoir having a resilient diaphragm 4 and arranged to sense the level of liquid in the reservoir 8, the diaphragm in use separating a clean liquid 3 within the reservoir from a contaminated liquid 5 outside of the reservoir and the arrangement being such that the clean liquid level 8 is able to adjust to the contaminated liquid level 9. The diaphragm between concentric perforated members 6, 7 is sealed to the base 11 of a container 10 which has perforations 12 outside the diaphragm. The level of a contaminated fluid 5 may be determined more accurately since the level measuring probe will only contact clean fluid. In use, when the level 9 of contaminated fluids is low, the diaphragm will be pressed by the weight of clean fluid within against the outer member 7, and as the level of contaminated rises, the diaphragm will be pressed increasingly against the inner member 6, and the clean fluid inside will continue to have the same level as the contaminated fluid outside the diaphragm. In use measuring rate of flow of fluid in an open channel, the level of fluid before a constriction rises and the determination of the amount of the rise using this meter gives a measure of flow rate.
