A method for recording games, e.g. football pools or lotteries, via agents, where a game marked on an original sheet (2) of a game coupon is read off by means of an agent terminal, the information read being recorded, preferably after a certain compression and re-arrangement, and the coupon being assigned a control marking (10') and a control number, for clear identification, and where game data (10), which contain at least the said information, preferably in its compressed state, and the control number are written, printed or the like on a receipt provided for the player, and where final recording is undertaken by means of a computer or the like which is in constant communication, or communication which is constant only during selected periods, with the terminal, final recording thus taking place on-line. The method is particularly characterised in that the said coupon, as is known per se, contains an original sheet (2) and an underlying copy sheet (5) and arrangements, e.g. an intermediate sheet of so-called carbon paper, for copying onto the copy sheet (5) what is marked on the original sheet (2), the said game data being entered on the side (11) of the copy sheet remote from the original sheet (2), the copy sheet (5) constituting a receipt, and in that the said control number (10'), substantially simultaneously with the said game data on the said original sheet ...
