摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body having high sensitivity even in a near IR region which is the wavelength of semiconductor laser output and satisfying an electrophotographic characteristic by using a specific trimethine dye in an electric charge generating layer. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating material used for the charge generating layer is the trimethine dye consisting of the 2-[(2-benzopyranilidene)propenyl]benzopyrylium salt deriv. and 2-[(2'-benzothiapyranilidene)propenyl]benzothiapyrylium salt deriv. expressed by the formula (R1 is hydrogen or phenyl group, R2 is hydrogen or P-methoxyphenyl group, X is a hydrogen atom or sulfur atom and Y is an anionic functional group) and is obtd. by bringing 2-methylbenzopyrylium salt or 2-methylbenzothiapyrylium salt into thermal reaction with ethyl orthoformate. The trimethine dye has lambdamax at 700-830nm and has the sensitivity in the near IR region.
