PURPOSE:To make a device at a low cost and to improve the separability of nickel by adding iron powder to a used iron chloride soln. contg. copper and nickel, precipitating the copper and adding iron powder and a small amt. of ferric chloride to the remaining soln. CONSTITUTION:Iron powder is added to a used iron chloride soln. contg. copper and nickel as heavy metals to be removed and the copper is precipitated and removed. Iron powder and a small amt. of ferric chloride are then added to the remaining soln., the iron powder is activated and the nickel is precipitated and removed. Since the copper and nickel are separately separated, they can be utilized as copper and nickel resources.
