<p>PURPOSE:To stabilize touch between a magnetic head and a magnetic tape and to diminish a sudden deformation of the magnetic tape by making a tape traveling surface in the vicinity of the head of a drum smaller than other traveling surfaces in diameter and making it approach the side of a rotational center axis of the magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:The tape traveling surface is provided with tapers 12a and 12b making its diameter smaller according as it approaches a gap between an upper fixed drum 1 and a lower fixed drum 2. Consequently, since it is hard to make a sudden change of the magnetic tape 9 at an edge part, even when an air film 11 does not take place, the magnetic tape 9 is hardly abutted against the edge part of the drum. By this method, even at the time of high speed rotation, since the air film 11 in the vicinity of the head can be reduced, good touch between the head and the tape is obtained, and then since stress to the magnetic tape can be diminished, traveling adjustment of the magnetic tape is simplified.</p> |
