PURPOSE:To obtain a gas generator where combustion velocity is freely controlled and kept stable for a long time by providing a main combustion chamber with an ignitor, a gas cooling chamber and an auxiliary combustion chamber between them and providing baffle plates from the auxiliary combustion chamber to the gas cooling chamber. CONSTITUTION:In the central part of a cylindrical gas generator 1 is arranged a main combustion chamber 2 in whose upper part a gas generating agent 3 is put. An igniter device 4 is provided to ignite the agent. There is a proper space 6 in the lower part of the main combustion chamber 2. The lower end of the space communicates with the next auxiliary combustion chamber 7 and baffle plates 8 are provided in the auxiliary chamber 7 and/or between the auxiliary combustion chamber 7 and the gas cooling chamber 9. Thereby the distance in the flow direction of gas and the space volume of the auxiliary combustion chamber is created, causing combustion to be kept under the pressurized conditions, permitting the combustion of the gas generating agent 3 to be freely controlled. |
