<p>PURPOSE:To attain high speed search reproduction in which motion of a picture is smooth at the reproduction from a recording medium when a broadcast code string subject to inter-frame prediction coding is recorded. CONSTITUTION:When a code string of a motion picture subject to high efficiency coding is broadcast, a prediction code string subject to prediction coding between frames or fields is decoded by a decoding means 10 to obtain a reproduced picture. Then a coding means 20 encodes the reproduced picture in a frame or field independently to obtain an independent code string able to be decoded independently and a code replacement means 30 replaces the part of the prediction code string with an independent code string obtained by the coding means 20 to record the code string.</p> |
