METHOD FOR PREVENTING SLAG FROM BEING POWDERED IN REFINING STAINLESS STEEL

PURPOSE: A method for preventing slag from being powdered in refining stainless steel is provided to originally prevent slag generated during refining stainless steel from being powdered by changing a composition so as to suppress powder generation due to volume expansion of slag when refining stainless steel. CONSTITUTION: In refining stainless steel, a molten steel and slag are tapped into a ladle after the molten steel is carburized in a refining furnace, and then silicon is put into it so as to deoxidize the molten steel and reduce the slag. A slag contains 10% or more of a concentration of alumina, thereby having a main constituent of CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-(MgO) while an Al dross is put into a molten steel so that a concentration of Al in the molten steel is 1000 ppm or less.
