The gripper is for modelling maxillary plates with multiple eyelets each formed with seatings for the heads of screws passing through them. Two successive eyelets are separated by a bridge. The gripper has flat jaws (5,6) having in at least one jaw (6) a recess (7) corresponding to the form of an eyelet. The recess has a central boss (12,14) to fit into the eyelet hole. The recess can be contiguous with a rectilinear recess (10,13,16,17) corresponding to the initial section of the following bridge extending from the eyelet. The maxillary plate is placed between the jaws and positioned in recess for retention by the jaws.
